"God's Complaints."

I would like to share the next abstract from an article named “God’s Complaints.” These phrases quote some titles that we use for Jesus. And now Jesus is telling us how He sees us.

You call me LORD and you don’t obey me.
You call me LIGHT and you don’t see.
You call me WAY and you don’t follow me.
You call me LIFE and you don’t wish it.
You call me WISE and you don’t listen.
You call me RICH and you don’t ask me.
You call me ETERNAL and you don’t reach me.
You call me MERCIFUL and you don’t trust in me.
You call me NOBLE and you don’t serve me.
You call me GOD and you don’t fear me.

Now I invite you to take time and make your own reflection in those phrases.

Is Jesus our light, way, Lord, God and our life?

You Have!!!

Few days ago one of good friends made me a question,
- Do you have friends?”
- I have just few. –I answered. But, I have a lot of people who I know.
- Me too, he said.

This a good question that I always make to myself too. When I feel lonely, I try to remember my life and see what I have in it; remembering wonderful and sad moments, which made my life how it is now. This summer I went to Rome, and there I met three of my old classmates that I had in my studies in Mexico. It was wonderful to see each other, we laughed, made jokes, and cheated each other. In those moments I saw how my life was built.

Every event, as small as the sand of the sea, is important for the human being, because, life is built of each portion of love, sorrow, joy and sadness.

Our life has to be a service for our brotherhood, just as one priest said: “Actions speak louder than words”. This invites us to demonstrate our being through our deeds. Because our neighbors are created in the same way like I was. There is no reason to make then out of our existence or life, with the same love God gives to them life, and life in abundance. In order to be one being in Him.

If you don’t have friends, you have to give yourself the opportunity to make some, because God gives you that freedom to choose yours. Imagine what opportunity you have! God is really kind!

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

DISCIPLE

“Love your neighbor.” When you do as much you can for your neighbor, have you felt that sometimes they don’t pay attention on it? As human beings we need to feel and express our emotions, but we cannot do it always. Many times, we keep things in our heart, because He is the only one who knows our heart.

This afternoon I just one nun (FLAMINIA), she is in her 80’s, but as nun she gave 50 years in one community doing her apostolate in the kitchen. Last year she was moved to her convent because of her health.

Sister Flaminia was born in Italy, after her profession, she was sent, with other classmates, to US as pioneers to start and found some communities here. Most of her time was here in Staten Island, NY.

Well, why am I saying this, because we are brothers in Christ don’t concern all the sacrifices that she made in her life for them. Think about all those moments that as nun, she saw us in crises, with our head down, and she told us something that gave us strength, and immediately she went to the little chapel to offer prayers for us, and implored to God to help us, that we should be strong and faithful.

This morning I asked one of our brothers,

- Have you visited sister Flaminia? I heard she is in serious condition.
- And he said, No. I just heard that she was very sick.
- I told him, She was not sick since yesterday, she was sick for months, and you have not visited her. “Tanti anni in questa casa e tu no tenere un momento per lei? Questa e una vergogna.”

We have to be sensible persons and see the reality of those who give the life for us. Sister Flaminia did ask for something, but at least, let us thanks to her and to the Lord for all those years and especial way for those moments that we share with her, that are unforgettable.

Oh, “Mama mia,” I will never forget those soft and delicious cakes. That smell I can feel now in front of my noise. Her cook was so particular that nobody has that touch. She was very meticulous person, every little detail she did in order to have the best and healthy food for the members. As a good disciple of the Divine Master she did the Father’s will. She gave her life for us.

During those 50 years, she saw most of the members how they came religious and priest. Some communities and apostolates were closed during the time. Failures and happiness came. But she was faithful to her vocation. “The Father is in me and I am in the Father" (Jn. 10:38).

I would like to repeat the same words that Paul VI said to Blessed Alberione, because these apply to sister and quote some characteristics on her: "Here [she] is, humble, silent, tireless, contained in his thoughts, which flows from prayer to work…”

She is just waiting the call of the Lord. She is conscious and happy for what she has done for the Lord, Congregation and brothers in Christ.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing (2 Tim 2:7-8).”

Why to me?

God where are you?

This morning, in one of my classes I delivered my practice of “preaching”. Oh, Poor me. What happened to me? Why me? I don’t know, even myself was in shock. During the delivering of my “little preaching” I felt so secure and confident that I was feeling happy. But when I finished it and the teacher asked to my classmates what they thought about it no one answered. The place was like a theater without show too silence, it was extremely quiet. Ups!!! I said in might. That was a terrible sign. I felt me blood was in up-and-down. In that moment I wanted to jump through the windows…

After all, I was talking about “Where our God is”, “God is in our life”, “We do his will”, etc. At the first moment, I reflected on those questions. I really had a doubt, which was, according that experience, "probably he is not with me, because I felt terrible."

Where you are God when I need you!

Now, I see that he really talks in many ways, no is always as we would like to experience. This time I feel like I have to accept my weakness, and overcome the next time with something better. “After a struggle passes, happiness comes.” Life is not always happiness. It is everything. The advantage is that we can learn from it.

Sometimes when something comes to our life that we dislike, we complain to God. Our mind always tries to see the reason, and when that reason is our fault or part of our destiny we take as God does it. God if you could speak you never fill finish.
It is true that we call you LIFE and we hate it, we call you LORD and we don’t obey you, we call you GOD and we don’t fear you.

Thank you, O Lord, for this sign. You have spoken in this way, not verbally, but through your deeds. Thank you for this lesion.

Thank you, O Lord, for your sign!
